Garmin has officially entered the screen-free fitness tracking space with its latest release: the Cirqa Smart Band.
Just as the Oura Ring triggered a wave of smart ring competitors, Whoop is now facing its own influx of challengers. Following the recent launch of the Fitbit Air, Garmin’s Cirqa is the latest minimalist, screen-free wearable aiming for a spot on your wrist.
Under the Hood: Tracking & Battery
Designed to be worn 24/7, the Cirqa boasts an impressive 10-day battery life. Because it lacks a screen, all data is routed directly to the Garmin Connect app. The band automatically detects physical activity and tracks a comprehensive suite of biometrics, including:
- Heart rate and Pulse Ox
- Skin temperature
- Stress levels
- Garmin’s signature “Body Battery” energy monitor
- Women’s health and cycle tracking (fully compatible with the Natural Cycles app)
Design & Wearability
Built for round-the-clock comfort, the Cirqa features a soft fabric band that can be worn traditionally around the wrist or higher up as an armband. It is available in two sizes (Small/Medium and Large/Extra-Large) and comes in a variety of earthy and neutral tones: black, citron gray, mauve, French gray, dark olive, captain blue, and French blue.
The Major Disruptor: Pricing
The biggest selling point of the Cirqa is its pricing model. Unlike the original Whoop band, which relies on a recurring monthly membership, the Cirqa is entirely subscription-free. Users pay a flat, one-time fee to access the hardware and the complete suite of software features.
The Garmin Cirqa Smart Band is priced at $199.99 and will be available to order starting July 24.
