Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese's Final WNBA showdown sets record ticket prices

Rivalry Reaches Fever Pitch

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are set to face off for the fourth and final time this WNBA 2024 season on Friday, August 30. Their intense collegiate rivalry has continued to captivate audiences, turning each game into a must-watch event filled with high-stakes action and memorable moments.

The matchup between the Indiana Fever’s Clark and the Chicago Sky’s Reese has drawn significant attention, with the Fever leading the series 2-1. As the two rookies prepare for their final showdown of the season, fans are eagerly anticipating whether Clark’s Fever can maintain their edge or if Reese’s Sky will even the score.

Historic ticket prices for a historic rivalry

Ahead of the highly anticipated game, the rivalry has already set a new record. The matchup between the Fever and the Sky has become the most expensive WNBA game in history, according to TickPick, with an average ticket price soaring to $334.

Ticket prices soar to four digits

The surge in ticket prices doesn’t stop there. As reported by TMZ, prices have skyrocketed to unprecedented levels, reaching four-digit figures. A representative for Gametime, an app specializing in last-minute tickets, revealed that as of Thursday afternoon, the average price for a seat at Wintrust Arena had climbed to $1,045. For fans seeking premium seats, the cost could soar as high as $2,013.

The stark contrast in ticket prices for this game compared to other WNBA games on Friday is striking. While fans can secure seats for as little as $15 for other matchups, the cheapest tickets for the Clark vs. Reese showdown are significantly higher, underscoring the magnitude of this final game.

WGNTV reported that median prices on secondary market sites were equally high, with StubHub listing tickets at $845, SeatGeek at $2,056, and Ticketmaster reaching an astounding $2,825. These prices far exceed the previous record set during the duo’s second game in June, which averaged $253 per ticket.

Final battle of the season

The final matchup of the season between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will tip off at 7:30 pm ET on Friday. As the two stars prepare for their last duel of the season, the sports world watches eagerly to see who will emerge victorious in this electrifying rivalry.
