Yan Chenglong, 48, who recently won a Xiangqi, or Chinese chess tournament, had his title removed and was banned for a year after he defecated in a bathtub and was accused of cheating. Chenglong, according to sources, employed anal beads connected with wireless transmitters to send and receive signals to predict his next actions. According to social media conjecture, he defecated in the bathtub to get rid of the device. The Guardian reports that “Yan allegedly clenched and unclenched rhythmically to communicate information about the chess board via code to a computer, which then sent back instructions on what moves to make in the form of vibrations.”

He defecated in his room’s bathtub, which “damaged hotel property and violated public order and good morals”

However, the Chinese Xiangqi Association (CXA) stated that it was hard to substantiate the cheating allegations. “Shortly after winning the title of ‘Xiangqi King’ at a national tournament held on the Chinese island of Hainan last week, Mr Yan began drinking with friends in his hotel room.” He then defecated in his room’s bathtub, which “damaged hotel property and violated public order and good morals,” according to a CXA statement. “Based on our understanding of the situation, it is currently impossible to prove that Yan engaged in cheating via ‘anal beads’ as speculated on social media,” the statement went on to say.

According to Shangyou News, the athlete reacted to the charges on Tuesday, saying he had diarrhoea after drinking on December 17. He didn’t make it to the toilet in time and had to poo in the bathtub. The player also denied cheating in the game, stating that he had been playing Chinese chess at a high level for over 40 years.
