Novak Djokovic consistently makes headlines, whether it’s for his heroics on the court or the issues that occasionally involve him. Djokovic most recently appeared in the Paris Masters 2022, where he lost to a 19-year-old Holger Rune in the final (6-3, 3-6, 5-7). The former world number one is currently embroiled in a new issue after a drink made by his physiotherapist during his semifinal match in Paris against Stefanos Tsitsipas ignited rumors everywhere.
The 35-year-old was given a drink by his physio, Ulises Baido, and his support team during the semi-final match between Djokovic and Tsitsipas, which the former won 6-2, 3-6, 7-6. On Twitter, the same video has gone viral, sparking questions about the specific ingredients of the beverage.
Novak’s wife strongly responded directly to the video on Twitter
Recently, Jelena Djokovic — Novak‘s wife — strongly responded directly to the video on Twitter. She wrote, “I don’t see anything dodgy. In fact, I see people trying to be private about their business in a world where everyone feels they have every right to point a camera at you whenever they want. Apparently, wanting/trying to be private makes you dodgy nowadays.”
After a fan urged Djokovic’s team to share details regarding the mystery drink, Jelena Djokovic quickly pointed out, “He will talk when he is ready to talk. This whole nonsense about making people speak about something they are not ready for because OTHERS are impatient is absurd.” She added, “Sit a bit in silence. Mind yourself more. Not everything you see is controversial. It could be private. Is that allowed?”
Djokovic responded in a manner that irked many and drew criticism
When asked about his pills at Wimbledon 2022 earlier in the year, Djokovic responded in a manner that irked many and drew criticism for appearing to inhale a supplement inside a water bottle. The Serbian star responded by calling it a “magic potion” and laughing at the query.
Djokovic will now prepare for the ATP Finals, but his participation in the 2023 Australian Open is still uncertain given that he is not immunized.
