‘It’s over for humanity’: Viral clip made with Google’s Veo 3 sparks unease online

What looks like a casual street interview with two glamorous women has taken the internet by storm, not for what was said, but for what wasn’t real. A recent video created by Veo 3 has gone viral, showing two women seemingly responding to a question about artificial intelligence. However, viewers were stunned to learn that none of it was real, not the women, not the interaction, not even the voices.

The clip begins like many social media videos, with a man stopping two women during a night out. He asks them, “What’s the one move with AI that makes haters go crazy every time?” One woman responds, “Y’all got to give them that; this is wild, it’s over! We are cooked on that threat! You get me?”

The conversation may sound offhand and real, but the entire scene is AI-generated.

Entire video created using Google’s Veo 3

The video was produced using Google’s cutting-edge video generation model, Veo 3, and it has left social media users stunned. First posted on X (formerly Twitter), the clip quickly racked up over 14.4 million views, with many struggling to believe that it wasn’t filmed in real life.

Unlike previous AI-generated visuals that often feature glitches or oddities, this video is alarmingly lifelike. There are few—if any—visible indicators of digital manipulation, making it nearly indistinguishable from real footage.

Reactions range from awe to fear

The comments section was flooded with responses ranging from amazement to alarm. Some users called the video “unreal” and compared it to the sci-fi movie Inception. Others went further, suggesting it offered proof that we might be living in a “simulation.” One viewer wrote, “It’s over for humanity,” echoing a growing fear about the power of AI.

Some experienced users pointed out subtle AI tells, like inconsistencies in the background — people who seem to vanish mid-frame or unnatural lighting cues — but most viewers were unable to detect anything off.

Can you believe this

It is 100% AI.

No one can tell it was created with Google Veo 3.

10 wild examples.

What is Veo 3?

Launched by Google on May 20, Veo 3 is an advanced AI video generation tool that can turn simple text or image prompts into hyper-realistic videos. It supports added dialogue, ambient noise, and even physical effects, giving creators near-complete control over what they produce.

In a blog post, Eli Collins, vice president at Google DeepMind, wrote, “Veo 3 excels from text and image prompting to real-world physics and accurate lip syncing.”

Raises serious questions about reality and AI

The viral video has reignited concerns over the rapid advancement of generative AI. While such tools promise huge creative potential, they also blur the lines between real and fake in ways that can be difficult to detect or resist.

As AI-generated content becomes increasingly indistinguishable from reality, many are asking what safeguards are in place — and whether they’re enough.
