Following the company’s announcement to integrate ChatGPT‘s capabilities into its search engine, Microsoft’s Bing has witnessed a 10X increase in downloads. Bing’s mobile app saw a tenfold surge in downloads, propelling it to the top of the Apple App store charts. According to data from an intelligence agency data.ai, which was revealed by Tech Crunch, the Edge browser is now the third most popular utility app, and the Bing mobile app has climbed to position 12 on the US App Store among all free iOS apps.

The rise in Bing downloads is indicative of how well-liked ChatGPT

The rise in Bing downloads is indicative of how well-liked ChatGPT is among users and that, despite experts’ reservations about AI, users are open to exploring and utilising the technology. On Tuesday, Microsoft unveiled a new version of Bing that includes ChatGPT functionality. Google unveiled their Bard-bid it’s to compete with ChatGPT only moments before Microsoft made one of its long-running rumours public. The company from Redmond revealed that its Bing search engine will now use OpenAI’s GPT-4 advanced natural language model. Additionally, a revamped Edge browser endowed with AI capabilities will be released.

Microsoft has embraced the benefits of AI across practically all of its products and services

Better search results, in-depth responses, inventiveness in results, and a new chat-like experience are all goals of the new Bing and Edge browsers. According to the business, the new Bing and Edge browsers enable an interactive dialogue for more involved searches, such as making a thorough travel itinerary or deciding what TV to buy. “The chat experience empowers you to refine your search until you get the complete answer you are looking for by asking for more details, clarity and ideas – with links available so you can immediately act on your decisions.”

Microsoft has embraced the benefits of AI across practically all of its products and services. Microsoft is one of the top investors in OpenAI, the startup that created well-known chatbots like ChatGPT and Dall-E. The business intends to commercialise the ground-breaking AI technologies as part of its third phase of engagement with OpenAI.
