The Boring Company would be able to expand its Vegas Loop system beyond its current 1.7-mile footprint. It connects the Las Vegas Convention Center campus to a 29-mile route with 51 stations. Tunnels include stops at casinos along the Las Vegas Strip, the city’s football stadium, and UNLV if Clark County officials approve a special use permit and franchise agreement. It will eventually make its way to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. The clearance was initially reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The main aim of the company is to cut down traffic in the cities. Therefore, they are building underground roadways serviced by fleets of Tesla vehicles. Musk’s earlier plans were for van-sized Teslas capable of self-driving, but the business is currently focusing on conventional Teslas with human drivers. Critics say the tunnel systems are nothing more than a less efficient version of a subway.
