The world record holder for the most Ghost peppers eaten has done it again! And this time Gregory Foster did it faster than before after eating 17 of them in a minute, according to Guinness World Records.
This Californian man ate 17 ghost peppers in one minute for this achievement. Gregory Foster took on the record for most Bhut Jolokia chilli peppers eaten in one minute. It is known as the ghost pepper, it is primarily grown in northeast India and was certified as the world’s hottest chilli pepper by Guinness World Records in 2007.
It is 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce and the mildest jalapenos. Notably, the most average specimen records an insane 1,041,427 Scoville Heat Units and yet, it only took Foster a minute to down 17 of these.
He holds the world record for finishing six Carolina Reaper chilli peppers in 8.72 seconds
Foster’s latest world record was set on Nov. 14, 2021, in San Diego, California. The passers-by watched him scarf down the hot peppers. The ghost pepper eater holds the world record for finishing six Carolina Reaper chilli peppers in 8.72 seconds. He has alongside broke the world record for the fastest time to eat three of the peppers in 2017.
The previous record holder for the most eaten Carolina Reaper chilli peppers was held by Mike Jack. He ate three in 9.72 seconds, according to Food Network.

“This record attempt is a personal challenge to see how far I can push myself and my love of the super hot peppers,” Foster told Guinness. “As a chilli lover, I’ve been trying to advance the awareness and the excitement surrounding the super-hot chillies out there.”
The Californian man is a true chilli connoisseur, having previously broken the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat three Carolina reaper chilli peppers. It is officially the hottest chilli pepper in the world. Moreover, it was his second attempt at this.
