Bella Brave, a beloved TikTok star known for her infectious spirit and resilience, has passed away at the age of 10 due to a combination of rare health issues. Her mother, Kyla, confirmed Bella’s death on July 15, a week after the young influencer was placed in a medically induced coma.
A life of bravery and joy
Kyla frequently shared heartwarming videos of her and Bella, from magical trips to Disneyland to playful makeup sessions. Bella, born Isabella Thomson, suffered from three rare medical conditions: dwarfism, Hirschsprung disease, and severe combined immunodeficiency. Despite these challenges, Bella’s bright personality garnered her a massive following on social media.

Bella had been battling complications from a lung infection. On July 9, she was intubated in the ICU, and her condition rapidly deteriorated. Kyla shared updates with their followers, expressing hope amidst the dire circumstances. “There has been a rapid fibrosis-like deterioration of Bella’s lungs. They believe it could be an immune response,” she wrote.
Despite the medical team’s best efforts, including the administration of large-dose steroids, Bella’s condition did not improve. Kyla and her husband Lyle remained by Bella’s side, reading her messages and playing music, hoping for a miracle.
“Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold July 14th 2024 at 4:19 p.m. ET,” Kyla wrote alongside a video of her daughter dancing.
“Bella passed peacefully in our arms,” she continued. “Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive and her bravery in your hearts. Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or kept you brave.”
“Bella would want you to remember; God is love, be brave and you are never too old to bring a stuffy. 🧸 #bellabrave,” the message concluded.

On TikTok, Kyla posted clips of Bella dancing to “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman, a poignant tribute to her daughter’s enduring spirit. She also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram: “Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold. Bella passed peacefully in our arms. Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive and her bravery in your hearts.”
Kyla’s post touched many, with followers expressing their grief and admiration for Bella. “This is heartbreaking,” one person wrote. Another added, “Rest in peace, Bella, prayers to you all.”
