Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, made a major statement ahead of the US presidential elections, appearing to support former US President Donald Trump, who is set to challenge incumbent Joe Biden.
Musk, a vocal critic of Biden, stated that America now requires a red wave, adding that the country “is toast” if the Republican party does not win the 2024 election.
Musk wrote on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter): “I voted 100% Democratic until a few years ago. Now, I believe we need a red wave or America will be toast.”

Musk has repeatedly slammed Biden’s approach to the southern border crisis and accused Democrats of being “controlled by the unions”.
Previously, he admitted to voting for Biden in the 2020 election, but he turned against him after Tesla was barred from the president’s 2021 electric vehicle summit.
During The New York Times Dealbook Summit in November, Musk clarified that he would not vote for Biden, but that this does not mean he will support Trump.
Following reports that Musk and Trump met at the X owner’s friend’s house, both Musk and Trump confirmed the meeting. The ex-US president is looking for new donors for his campaign. In an interview with former CNN host Don Lemon, Musk stated that Trump had not requested any financial assistance and that he would not pay his legal fees under any circumstances.
However, Musk has not ruled out endorsing a white candidate.
“I want to make a considered decision before the election, and if I do decide to endorse a candidate, then I will explain exactly why,” he told reporters.
Earlier in March, The Washington Post reported that Trump had discussed selling his social media platform, Truth Social, to Musk. According to two unnamed sources, Musk received the offer last summer while still running X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to the sources, the two discussed the matter “more than was previously known,” and Trump advised his confidants that despite the failed talks, the X owner should buy Truth Social.
