Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone may have finally appeared in the wild—at least in prototype form.
A video posted by Canadian tech creator Lewis Hilsenteger, better known as Unbox Therapy, appears to show a foldable iPhone alongside an alleged iPhone 18 Pro Max. Hilsenteger said the device was supplied by an unnamed source in China and suggested that the prototype closely resembles what Apple could eventually release.
The alleged leak comes just days before Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhone lineup, including its first foldable model. However, Apple has not confirmed the device, its design, or the September 9 launch date reported in connection with the iPhone 18 series.
The video has nevertheless attracted significant attention, with nearly two million views reported, as Apple enters what could be its biggest iPhone design change in years.

The device shown in the video follows the basic design expected from a book-style foldable smartphone.

That claim is important—but it is still not independent confirmation.
Prototype and dummy devices frequently circulate ahead of major smartphone launches. Some are based on information from manufacturers, accessory companies or supply-chain sources, while others can be produced from leaked dimensions or rumors.
The fact that an earlier source has accurately predicted hardware does not guarantee that every current prototype represents Apple’s final product.
