Japanese man spends over $15,000 to become a dog

A Japanese man fulfilled his dream of wanting to look like an animal. Twitter user @toco_eevee posted pictures of himself leaving the internet baffled.

Japanese man ‘becomes’ a dog

Toko, a Japanese man who goes by @toco_eevee on Twitter posted pictures of himself that have left the netizens stumped. Zeppet, a professional agency made his lifelong dream come true with this transformation into “collie”. Collie is a breed of dog. According to news.mynavi, a local Japanese news outlet, the modeling company provides a large number of sculptures for movies, commercials, and amusement facilities and also produces costumes that have been seen on TV and costumes of famous mascot characters in Japan.

“The point is that the skeleton of a dog can be reproduced on the skeleton of a human. Since the structure of the skeleton is very different, we spent a lot of time studying how to make it look like a “dog”. In addition, we collected photographs taken from various angles so that the beautiful coat of collie can be reproduced, and devise so that the coat will flow naturally,” stated an in charge from Zeppet.

More on the realistic costume

The entire costume is estimated to have costed over $15,700 (2 million Yen) and took over 40 days to make. “I made it a collie because it looks real when I put it on my taste and costume. My favorite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones. Among them, I thought that a big animal close to me would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog. Long-haired dogs can mislead the human figure. I met such a condition and made collie, my favorite breed of dog,” said Toko.

During an interview with a local news outlet, the interviewer asked him if he could move freely while wearing the costume. To this, he replied that “there are restrictions, but you can move it. However, if you move it too much, it will not look like a dog”. Toko has a YouTube channel. In one of his videos, he is seen asking viewers for “requests for the video you would like to see”. However, it is very difficult to locate a picture of Toko, outside of him in this dog costume.
