Unexpected Encounter in Kisatchie National Forest
A group of recently graduated high school students from Houma, Louisiana, experienced a night of terror after encountering what they believed to be a Bigfoot-like creature while camping in Kisatchie National Forest, approximately 100 miles northwest of Baton Rouge.
911 call and police response
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office detailed the incident in a Facebook post. “After setting up camp, one member of the group, ranging in ages of 17-18, called 911 frightened, requesting assistance because they reportedly heard a growl and saw what appeared to be an animal that had glowing eyes and stood about 5 feet tall,” the post read. Deputies B. Remo and Cpl. D. Halliburton were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the deputies searched the area for any signs of suspicious activity or glowing eyes. “Deputies then heard the group’s whistle and located them unharmed. Deputies arrived at the campsite and successfully escorted the group out of the forest,” the post continued.
Despite the intense search, authorities were “unable to locate any suspicious activity involving a growl with glowing eyes and standing 5-feet tall.” The Sheriff’s Office concluded their message by congratulating the Houma graduates and wishing them luck in their future endeavors.
