In comparison to a comparable survey by Forbes in 2019, the number of US states with at least one billionaire increased by three from 44 the previous time. Alabama, New Hampshire, and Vermont have recently been added to the list. Maryland-based Annette Lerner who is the widow of Washington Nationals owner Ted Lerner, is the oldest billionaire in the list at 93 years old. Surprisingly, more than half of the list’s billionaires made their fortunes in just four industries: banking and investments (9 billionaires), fashion and retail (8 billionaires), food and beverage (6 billionaires), and technology (6 billionaires).
Google co-founder Larry Page is the richest person in California, with a fortune of $105 billion, according to the report. Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison is the richest individual in Hawaii, with $146 billion. Warren Buffett, the chairman, and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, is the wealthiest person in Nebraska, worth an estimated $117 billion. According to Forbes, four of the world’s five wealthiest people live in the United States.
