Would-be thief flees after teller fails to decipher his instructions
A bizarre robbery attempt in Loveland, Colorado, was thwarted when a thief’s illegible handwriting rendered his note incomprehensible. The incident unfolded at a local bank on December 17, 2024, leaving the staff and authorities baffled by the failed heist.
Unreadable note causes confusion
Around 5 p.m., the suspect entered the First National Bank on North Lincoln Avenue and handed a handwritten note to the teller. However, the handwriting was so poor that even the most basic instructions could not be understood, CBS News reported.
The teller, struggling to make sense of the note, took longer than expected to respond, causing the would-be robber to grow increasingly agitated. Realizing the heist was going off track, the man abandoned the attempt and fled the scene.
Suspect’s appearance released
According to the Loveland Police Department, the suspect wore a brown hoodie, a green baseball cap, and sunglasses during the incident. Despite wearing sunglasses, he did not attempt to conceal his face. Authorities are actively seeking information on his whereabouts.
The department took to Twitter to seek public assistance, sharing an image of the suspect and urging anyone with information to come forward.

Walmart staff spotted the man as he tried to shoplift merchandise. Officers, already stationed in the store, quickly surrounded the suspect and apprehended him before he could flee.
