Passengers aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Orlando to Austin were rattled Tuesday when a section of the aircraft’s wing appeared to break loose midair.

The Boeing 737, operating as Delta Flight 1893, was approaching Austin-Bergstrom International Airport when travellers noticed part of the wing’s flap flapping uncontrollably.

Video recorded by passenger Shanila Arif shows the metal piece shifting violently as the plane shook.

“We felt it was bad turbulence. The plane was shaking,” Arif told reporters. “The lady in front of us opened the window and told us it is broken. I opened the window and got scared.”
