Elon Musk’s Ex Grimes Opens Up About Serious Health Battle: ‘Symptoms were infinitely worse’

The singer disclosed that she has been diagnosed with both autism and ADHD

Grimes, who shares three children with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, revealed on social media that she has been diagnosed with both autism and ADHD. The Canadian singer also speculated that she might be dyslexic as well.

The 37-year-old songwriter criticized the ‘ADHD Memes’ account, which had shared a screenshot of an X post.

The post read: “I saw a TikTok about how excessive reading in childhood is a sign of dissociation, and I can’t stop thinking about it.”

In response, Grimes opened up about her own diagnosis.

“I have to say, there’s this subculture of I guess ‘mental health’ accounts that I actually think are like extreme infohazards,” she wrote.

She further explained that she was diagnosed with ADHD and autism this year and recently discovered she may be dyslexic, “which is why she can’t spell without spellcheck.”

As she had been unaware of her condition throughout her childhood, the singer expressed regret, saying she wished she had addressed it earlier and taken medication.

She added that her “weird obsessions and motivations” might have been viewed as “pathological” at the time.

Grimes says her ADHD symptoms were ‘worse’

According to Grimes, a “huge percentage” of Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnoses are linked to “screen addiction and dopaminergic burnout.”

The singer stated that her ADHD symptoms were “worse” when she “wasn’t an avid reader.”

“An ADHD account trying to pathologize one of the best things a child can do to help with ADHD (and also become an autodidact and knowledgeable person etc., etc) is so dark… I can’t even begin,” she said.

Grimes’ ongoing legal battle with Musk

The singer’s revelation comes amid her ongoing dispute with Musk over the welfare of their children.

Grimes has claimed that she has “begged” the SpaceX CEO and even pursued legal action to keep their children out of the public eye—particularly away from the White House. This follows the appearance of their son, X AE A-XII, at CPAC and in the Oval Office.
