Virginia Giuffre, Prince Andrew’s accuser, alleged in court documents that she was given thousands of dollars by convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein to have sex with the royal when she was 17. According to Sky News, the legal papers are part of the most recent batch of documents revealed in connection with Ms Giuffre’s civil defamation lawsuit against Epstein’s ex-girlfriend and long-time partner Ghislaine Maxwell, which was brought in 2015 and resolved two years later. In court documents, Mr Giuffre was questioned by attorneys about an incident in 2001 when she claimed to have spent time with Prince Andrew.

“Were you paid 10 to $15,000 by or on behalf of Jeffrey Epstein for having sex with Prince Andrew?” Ms Giuffre was asked, as per the outlet. She responded, “Yes, I did receive $15,000. I don’t know what equivalent that is to pounds. I received it in American dollars”. Ms Guiffre was then asked if she paid taxes on the money, and she said no.

Notably, Prince Andrew has denied all wrongdoing. Ms Giuffre, on the other hand, has previously maintained that her first encounter with the prince occurred when she was 17 at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London house. Maxwell, on the other hand, has disputed the claims and is currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence for her role in sex trafficking kids with Epstein. In 2019, the disgraced financier passed away while awaiting trial on federal conspiracy and sex trafficking accusations.

New details emerge in Giuffre’s deposition

Ms Giuffre previously claimed she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew three times between 1999 and 2002, in London, New York, and on Epstein’s private Caribbean island. In the deposition, she also mentioned an undated visit to a Club with Prince Andrew, where he ordered them “clear drinks” from the bar and said that her drink contained alcohol.

Andrew stepped down from frontline royal duties in late 2019 after a BBC television appearance in which he justified his acquaintance with Epstein sparked public outcry. A US civil case initiated by Ms Giuffre, who alleged he sexually assaulted her when she was 17, was settled in February 2022.

Soon after, Andrew’s mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, revoked his honorary military titles and patronages, thereby excluding him from royal life. He has always denied sexual assault and ever meeting Ms Giuffre.

Before pleading guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008, Jeffrey Epstein socialized with Wall Street giants, aristocracy, and celebrities. He committed suicide in 2019 at the age of 66 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking accusations.
