Bowie resident continues scratch-off streak with another six-figure win
A Maryland man with a remarkable streak of lottery luck has hit it big once again, winning $100,000 from a scratch-off ticket—marking his third six-digit payout from the Maryland Lottery. The man, a resident of Bowie, purchased a Monopoly X50 ticket at the Forbes BP gas station on Annapolis Road in Lanham. This time, he used $10 borrowed from his wife, a detail he shared with Maryland Lottery officials.
“You know I’m going to split it with you anyway,” he recalled telling her.
That $10 gamble paid off, netting the couple another $100,000 prize and adding to an already impressive record of wins.
A track record of big wins
This latest victory is not the first time the lucky player has visited Maryland Lottery headquarters. In 2022, he claimed a $250,000 prize from a $250,000 Gold Rush scratch-off. Prior to that, he took home $100,000 from an earlier scratch-off game. The three-time winner said his enthusiasm for the lottery isn’t waning anytime soon. In fact, he has his eyes on an even bigger prize.
“Now I’m looking for a $1 million or $2 million win, then I’m done,” he said.
Plans for the winnings
The man already has practical plans for how to use his latest windfall. He said the money will go toward installing new kitchen cabinets, replacing windows throughout his home, and starting college funds for his grandchildren. Until that million-dollar ticket comes along, he plans to keep playing.
