Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff Tests Positive for COVID-19

VP Kamala Harris Tests Negative

Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, has tested positive for COVID-19, according to an announcement from his office.

In a statement released on Sunday, Emhoff’s Communications Director, Liza Acevedo, confirmed that the Second Gentleman tested positive on Saturday after experiencing mild symptoms. “He is fully vaccinated and three times boosted,” Acevedo said, noting that Emhoff is currently asymptomatic, working remotely, and isolating at home.

“Out of an abundance of caution, yesterday (on Saturday), the Vice President was tested for COVID-19. She tested negative and remains asymptomatic,” Acevedo added.

Emhoff was recently photographed at the White House, standing near Vice President Harris, President Joe Biden, and First Lady Jill Biden during the Independence Day celebration on Thursday.

Health protocols and close monitoring continue to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved.
