VerSe Innovation, the parent company behind popular local language platforms Dailyhunt and Josh, has officially appointed Prasanna Prasad as its new Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). This strategic leadership addition highlights the company’s aggressive push toward AI-led innovation and platform scaling.

In his new role, Prasad will take the helm of VerSe Innovation’s engineering, product development, and data science divisions. His primary mandate is to advance artificial intelligence capabilities across the company’s diverse portfolio of apps and services.

A Focus on Personalization and Creator Growth

As VerSe Innovation continues to scale its AI-powered ecosystem—currently serving over 350 million users- Prasad’s leadership will be instrumental in driving key technological advancements. His core focus areas will include:

  • AI-Driven Content Personalization: Enhancing recommendation engines to deliver highly tailored content to users.
  • Empowering the Creator Ecosystem: Building robust, AI-first tools to support and grow the creator community on platforms like Josh.
  • Scaling Ad-Tech: Optimizing advertising technology to significantly improve user engagement and boost monetization efforts.

Decades of Deep-Tech Experience

Prasad brings over 20 years of robust experience in product engineering, data science, and the development of large-scale, cloud-native platforms.

He joins VerSe Innovation from Verve Group Inc., where he most recently served as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product and AI. During his tenure at Verve Group, Prasad successfully spearheaded platform development and led multiple high-impact, AI-driven initiatives.

Strong Financial Momentum for VerSe Innovation

The appointment comes at a time of significant financial growth for VerSe Innovation. The company’s portfolio, which includes NexVerse.ai, Dailyhunt Premium, and VerSe Collab, has seen substantial revenue traction.

  • Revenue Growth: VerSe reported an operating revenue of Rs 1,930 crore in FY25, a massive leap from Rs 1,029 crore in FY24.
  • Profitability Goals: The firm is actively targeting breakeven and group-level profitability in the second half of FY25.

To date, the Bengaluru-based tech giant has raised over $1.5 billion in funding. It boasts strong backing from marquee global investors, including CPP Investments, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority, Carlyle Group, Baillie Gifford, Goldman Sachs, and Peak XV Partners.
