Actor and comedian Milana Vayntrub has raised more than $500,000 for victims of the Los Angeles–area wildfires through an unconventional but intentional fundraising campaign. The 38-year-old performer, known widely as AT&T’s Lily Adams, used a blend of personal storytelling, digital content, and grassroots outreach to mobilize supporters on the platform OnlyPhilanthropy.

How Milana Vayntrub Began Her Wildfire Relief Fundraising Effort

Vayntrub disclosed that her first campaign emerged from a single, urgent request earlier this year. She raised $170,000 in a short window to assist a Los Angeles mother named Bridget, who was struggling in the aftermath of wildfire-related hardship.

According to Vayntrub, the funds enabled Bridget to acquire medical equipment and supportive care tools for herself and her child with special needs. Bridget later told her, “It was the first time in a long time I felt seen. Like someone actually cared that we were still here, still fighting.”

The response prompted Vayntrub to expand the effort, turning a one-time action into a structured philanthropic initiative.

How OnlyPhilanthropy Works in Vayntrub’s Campaigns

Vayntrub uses OnlyPhilanthropy—an independent fundraising platform featuring “playful, exclusive content” exchanged for donations—as the primary mechanism for mobilizing supporters. She has described the model as a form of values-driven crowdfunding: contributors receive lighthearted, flirty photos, and the proceeds go directly to wildfire relief.

While the format has generated attention due to its unconventional approach, Vayntrub frames it as an extension of bodily autonomy and purpose-driven community building. In a July post, she summarized the concept:
“You give. I give (a few flirty pics). We help people who really need it. Let’s trade some playful, exclusive content for real-world impact.”

Fans have largely celebrated the initiative, noting her transparency and her decision to reclaim control over her image after years of unsolicited online commentary.

Expansion of Fundraising and Partnerships

After the initial campaign for Bridget, Vayntrub raised an additional $350,000 in one week. Those funds supported My Tribe Rise, an Altadena-based organization that provides direct monetary and community assistance to wildfire survivors.

The cumulative amount raised across both campaigns has now surpassed $500,000, according to the OnlyPhilanthropy site. The platform highlights the model as proof that women-led digital communities can generate substantial, purpose-driven impact.

Vayntrub has called the project “the best thing I’ve ever been a part of” and continues to operate an active account on the site. Its tagline, “Using the male gaze to fight the blaze,” underscores the project’s ethos: reframing attention into action.

Public Response and Cultural Context

The campaign has sparked discussion about new models of online philanthropy, especially those created by women leveraging agency over their digital presence. Many commenters thanked Vayntrub for transforming what has historically been a source of online scrutiny into a tool for community aid.

One supporter wrote, “Some people need to do a little reading about how she felt when people online criticized her for her body. Now she’s doing this on her own terms. Bravo.” Another added, “We need more wonderful people like you in this world.”

That positive response reflects a broader shift in how creators use digital platforms to raise funds, challenge stigmas, and support emergency relief efforts faster than traditional channels.
