Disturbing audio recordings from the air traffic control tower reveal frantic attempts to reach the Learjet 55 before it went down. “What’s going on down there?” one air traffic controller can be heard asking, while another responds, “We have a lost aircraft. We’re not exactly sure what happened. So, we’re trying to figure it out”.

The Learjet was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri when it crashed just three miles from the airport.
