Couple seen together for the first time since scandal
Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who resigned earlier this year after a viral ‘kiss cam’ controversy, has been spotted with his wife, Megan Kerrigan, for the first time since the scandal broke.
The couple, photographed by the Daily Mail, were seen enjoying a sunset picnic at a beach over the weekend. Both appeared casual in athleisure wear and were still wearing their wedding bands, signaling that they may be working through the public fallout.
The scandal that shook the tech world
The controversy erupted on July 16 during Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Byron, 51, was caught on the venue’s ‘kiss cam’ kissing Kristin Cabot, 52, his company’s Human Resources head.
The viral footage triggered online outrage and speculation. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even joked mid-performance, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” after Byron and Cabot awkwardly tried to avoid the camera.
Following the viral moment, Astronomer swiftly placed both executives on leave. Byron resigned the next day, while Cabot stepped down shortly after.
Fallout and family reactions
The scandal had immediate personal consequences. Cabot filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew, in August. Meanwhile, Megan, 50, quietly dropped Byron’s surname from her social media accounts, reverting to her maiden name, Kerrigan.
Court filings indicate no divorce petition has been submitted for Byron and Kerrigan in Massachusetts. The couple has kept a low profile, with Megan temporarily moving out of their Maine residence.
Where things stand now
Their recent public outing has reignited speculation over the state of their marriage. While Megan has not commented publicly, the couple’s appearance together suggests they may be seeking reconciliation.
By contrast, Cabot has moved forward with legal separation.
